Applying online for a DP Certificate - Shuttle Tanker Scheme

To apply online you will need to log into your account on the NI Alexis Platform. An account will already be held on The Nautical Institute database from when you attended a course at the DP training centre. If you do not know your login details please use the ‘Forgot password’ option on the login page. Please note that your logbook number will be linked to the account that you set up when you attended the DP Induction Course or transferred to the Shuttle Tanker Scheme so you must use the same account as the logbook has already been registered to your account. If you have changed your email address since you attended the DP Induction Course, please try previous email addresses that you still have access to. 

Once logged in on the NI website, you should check and update any personal details which may have changed including the email address.

You will need to scan and attach copies of all your documents that are to be used in your application onto your account. Once everything is uploaded, please click the 'Submit' option (this has changed as previously you were required to add the information into your logbook on your account).  After you click 'Submit', you will receive an email confirming that the Certification team will check through your scans and make you eligible if all the information appears to be correct.  Please be aware that this is not a guarantee that a DP Certificate will be issued as the team perform additional checks once the original documents arrive in our office. The Certification team will contact you once the scans have been checked to confirm if you are eligible to send your application into our office for processing.

 The payment option will only be available if you meet the certification requirements and the once the payment has been completed, the application should be sent into The Nautical Institute offices for processing along with the PDF Checklist which will become available after payment.

Documents to be sent to the Nautical Institute offices are:

  • Copy of passport personal details page
  • Copy of STCW certificate held at time of DP Induction Course
  • Original NI logbook
  • Confirmation letters for all seatime and offshore loading operations
  • Additional documents where necessary

Once documents are received and logged in by The Nautical Institute, an automatic email will be generated and sent to your registered email address confirming that we have received your documents. Another email will be sent once your documents are processed.

Please note that all applications are subject to verification once they are received by The Nautical Institute.
