Sending documents to The Nautical Institute

We are  accepting documents in our office but as the majority of staff are working remotely, there may be a delay in your documents being logged in to our database.  If you are applying for the first time, or to upgrade or convert your current certificate, please note that your application will not be placed in the queue to be processed until your documents have been received in our office.


Please send the documents listed below:

  • Original NI DP Logbook;
  • Original Limited DP certificate, if you are applying for an upgrade;
  • Original company DP sea time confirmation letter(s) for all DP sea time (signed on official letter headed paper with the company stamp);
  • Copy of passport personal details page;
  • Copy of your Certificate of Competency;
  • Any other relevant documentation and/or letters from your company, e.g. Additional Tasks, Statement of Suitability (if applicable)

Once your documents have been delivered to our office it may take up to 7 working days for us to log in your documents and for you to receive the confirmation email from us.

We kindly ask that you do not contact us unless asked to do so, to give us time to check through your application.
