To apply online you will need to log into your account on the NI Alexis Platform. If you do not know your login details, please use the ‘Forgotten password’ option on the login page. A temporary password will be sent to the email address registered on your account.
Once logged in on the NI website, you should check and update any personal details, before completing the below actions:
Please select the DP Vessel maintainer Initial Training Application to start the process.
- You will need to scan and attach copies of the documents listed below onto your account.
- Copy of passport personal details page
- Copy of STCW certificate held at time of attending the DP Vessel Maintainer course
- Original NI logbook
- Confirmation letters for all sea time
- Additional documents where necessary
2. Once everything is uploaded, click on the submit option, after which, you will receive an email confirming that the Qualifications Team will check through your scans and make your application eligible.
3. Once your application has been made eligible you should complete the payment and send the below documents to our office.

Once documents are received and logged in by The Nautical Institute, an automatic email will be generated and sent to your registered email address confirming that we have received your documents. Another email will be sent once your documents are processed. Please note that all applications are subject to verification once they are received by The Nautical Institute.
