You need both sea time and one revalidation pathway.
Sea time: Minimum 150 DP sea time days / DP activities, gained within the validity period of your current DPVM certificate.
Choose ONE pathway:
- CPD route: 4 years of NI‑approved CPD AND pass the NI DP Revalidation Online Exam
- Course route: Complete the NI DPVM Revalidation Course

Indemnity Letter
If your certificate expires in the above years and CPD is not yet complete, an indemnity letter valid for 12 months may be issued once your application is submitted and fees are paid.
Important Notes
- All DP Sea time and activities must fall within your certificate’s validity dates.
- DP sea time or activities gained after expiry will not be counted.
