Time to complete initial DP Scheme

It has been agreed that anyone who is currently in the process of completing the initial New Offshore or Shuttle Tanker Scheme will now have an additional year to complete all the sections of the training. This means that you will have five years instead of four years to finish your training.

This time is measured as the time between completing the DP Induction Course and the signing/dating of your Suitability Sign-Off (Phase e on New Offshore Scheme, Phase 4/11 on Shuttle Tanker Scheme depending on which version you are completing) .  This also means that if you would otherwise have needed to retake courses or redo DP sea time older than four years, these elements may now be within date and therefore valid.

If you have any questions or concerns please let us know, but we sincerely hope this adjustment to the Scheme requirements will afford training DPOs sufficient time to complete their training thoroughly and comfortably.

Please note we are in the process of updating our system to accept this change so you may not be able to apply through the system immediately, but this should be updated shortly. We will also be updating our guidance on the help pages and this will be done as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience while we make these changes.
